"In my undergraduate studies I did two research projects with the staff at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. When looking into graduate studies, I wanted experience in more applied work. This course appealed to me, as I would be working directly with a company by doing an industry project instead of a thesis."

"What I liked best about my course was the exposure to many different areas of study that weren’t taught in my undergraduate degree. I was able to do graduate subjects from Commerce and Economics, Information Systems and the Melbourne Business School. It also gave me more insight into more areas I could work in once I had graduated."

"My industry project was with BlueScope Steel. We had to construct a financial model for a new product that was in the process of being released to the general public. The industry project gave me the opportunity to apply several things I had learned from my studies, in particular project management. It also gave me hands-on experience in working in a team to achieve a goal in the workplace."

"My experience at the University of Melbourne enabled me to find out what I wanted in a career, as well as to expand my knowledge in different areas. It also helped me develop soft skills that are imperative in the workplace. Since graduating, I have been working a National Australia Bank as a risk analyst in the business banking sector."
